Built as a playground
Puzzleground began as my way to explore iOS 27 and the newest Apple platform technologies. It is a real puzzle app, but it is also where I learn by building, testing, and refining ideas in public.
Apple’s Foundation Models framework suggests puzzle and group names locally, while Image Playground turns new ideas into playable artwork.
The puzzle board explores iOS 27’s reorderable and reorder-container APIs alongside a custom drag implementation.
Puzzles become system entities that Siri, Spotlight, Shortcuts, and the Action button can discover and act on.
Puzzle images, titles, organization, and progress stay in the local library, with automatic restoration between sessions.
Remote configuration and privacy-conscious telemetry help compare reordering ideas and understand the solve experience.
The smaller experiments matter too: photo alignment, persistent progress, accessible play aids, tips, search, and organization.
